Houston Dynamo defender A.J. DeLaGarza underwent successful surgery this morning to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. The expected recovery time from this surgery is six to nine months.
DeLaGarza sustained the injury early in Houston’s 3-0 victory over the Chicago Fire on Sunday, Oct. 22, leaving the game with an announced left knee injury in the 13th minute. He is in his first season with the Dynamo and has played in a career-high 30 games, starting every one, and recorded three assists from his right back position.
