Houston Dynamo FC midfielder Artur was named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of Matchday bench for Matchday 5, the league announced today.
The 27-year-old is the second Dynamo player named to the team this season and earns the honor after Houston earned three points with a 1-0 victory at Shell Energy Stadium over New York City FC on Saturday. Artur won possession 11 times on Saturday and won all six of his duels in the game.
The midfielder currently leads the team in tackles won with 10 and adds five blocked shots this season.
Artur is in his first season with the Dynamo and he is one of eight players to join the 2023 roster that won a senior professional or collegiate championship. The Brazilian began his stint in MLS with the Columbus Crew in 2017 and would go on to win the 2020 MLS Cup.
