Dynamo players Alberth Elis, Romell Quioto and Boniek GarcÃa take a break from the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs but head right back into do-or-die mode as they join Honduras to take on Australia in an intercontinental playoff for a spot in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The first game of the 2-legged series takes place today at 4 p.m. CT in San Pedro Sula, Honduras (beIN Sports, Telemundo). Elis is suspended for the match due to yellow card accumulation, putting even more pressure on Quioto to add to his six goals already scored in World Cup qualifying play.
Elis will be eligible again for the second leg in Australia on Wednesday, November 15 (3 a.m. CT | beIN Sports, WatchESPN) before the trio returns to Houston for the start of the Western Conference Championship against Seattle Sounders FC on November 21 (8:30 p.m. | TICKETS).
