The Houston Dynamo have re-signed forward Cam Weaver, the club announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Weaver, 29, appeared in nine games (2 starts) in the 2012 regular season. The 6-foot-4 forward scored two goals and added two assists in the CONCACAF Champions League, including a goal and two assists against C.D. FAS on Sept. 20. Weaver started all four CCL group stage games and led Dynamo field players with 354 minutes as Houston won its group to advance to the tournament quarterfinals.
The Tacoma, Wash. native led the Dynamo Reserves with 11 goals in nine games (including five goals in the final two games) as the club won the MLS Reserve League Central/Mountain division title with a 6-2-2 record. The five-year MLS veteran has scored 11 goals in 68 career appearances, including a career-high of four in 2011.
The Dynamo open the 2013 MLS season on Saturday, March 2 with a rematch of the 2012 Eastern Conference Championship against D.C. United at 7 p.m. at BBVA Compass Stadium.
