Houston Dynamo FC exercised contract options for four players following the 2022 MLS regular season, the Club announced today. The Dynamo enter the offseason with up to 10 open roster spots, including seven senior roster spots.
Houston exercised 2023 contract options on forward Corey Baird and defenders Ethan Bartlow, Griffin Dorsey and Adam Lundqvist.
The Club declined the 2023 contract options for the following players: forward Mateo Bajamich, defender Ian Hoffman, midfielder Marcelo Palomino, forward Thiago and defender Zarek Valentin.
The club will make a decision on the following players prior to the MLS deadline (Nov. 14): forward Fafa Picault, forward Darwin Quintero, midfielder Memo Rodriguez and defender Zeca.
Midfielder Darwin Cerén and defender Sam Junqua are out of contract. The club extended a bona fide offer to Junqua earlier this month.
The Dynamo enter the 2023 season with the following 16 players under contract: forward Beto Avila, midfielder Adalberto “Coco” Carrasquilla, midfielder Juan Castilla, goalkeeper Steve Clark, forward Sebas Ferreira, defender Teenage Hadebe, midfielder Héctor Herrera, goalkeeper Michael Nelson, defender Tim Parker, midfielder Brooklyn Raines, midfielder Daniel Rios, defender Daniel Steres, forward Thor Úlfarsson, goalkeeper Xavier Valdez, midfielder Matias Vera. Forward Nelson Quiñónes remains on the roster on loan from Once Caldas S.A. in Colombia.
