The Houston Dynamo and Portland Timbers have agreed to a trade that would send Portland's first round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft to Houston in exchange for the right to negotiate with Scottish forward Kris Boyd. The deal will be finalized upon receipt of Boyd's visa.
“We made a serious play for Kris, but he decided Houston was not the right fit for him personally,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “It works out well for us, getting some valuable compensation with the first round pick. We have other players in mind and are in pursuit of them.”
The Dynamo will open BBVA Compass Stadium on May 12 against D.C. United. While single game tickets to Dynamo home games are not yet available, fans can purchase tickets to all games via Dynamo full and partial season ticket plans. Ticket packages can be purchased by calling (713) 276-GOAL or by visiting HoustonDynamo.com.
