The Houston Dynamo Academy, presented by Statoil, hosted the Colorado Rush last weekend at the Houston Amateur Sports Park. The Dynamo split the weekend series against Colorado, with the Dynamo U-18s falling 2-1 and the Dynamo U-16s winning 2-0.
After a dramatic 3-2 win on May 4 against Real Colorado, the Dynamo U-18s jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Saturday against the Colorado Rush. Martin Agredo put the Dynamo on the board in the 29th minute with his fourth goal of the season. The Dynamo were unable to hold the lead, however, as Isaiah Madrid tied the match for the Rush minutes before halftime and Spencer Goldstein scored the game-winner in the 77th minute.
The Dynamo U-16s got back to their winning ways after losing on May 4 to the Colorado Rapids. Houston got on the board early with a fourth-minute goal from Giovanni Pacheco. The Dynamo sealed the match minutes after halftime when Christian Lucatero connected for his 12th goal of the season.
After a congested schedule, both teams will have two-and-a-half weeks off before their regular season finales on June 1 against FC Dallas at FC Dallas Sports Park.
