There might be no hotter club in US Soccer's Development Academy League than the Dynamo U-16s, presented by Statoil, as the squad won its eighth straight match with a 2-0 victory over Texas Rush on Saturday at Lents Family Park. Matthew Dorsey (pictured, above) and Josue Palomino provided the goals for Houston, who remain in first place with a 15-3-1 record.
Over the past eight games, the Dynamo U-16s have scored 27 goals with a +20 goal differential. Palomino's goal was his sixth of the year, while Dorsey's game-winner was the center back's second of the season.

The Dynamo U-18s, presented by Statoil, needed an 83rd-minute goal from homegrown striker Bryan Salazar to earn a critical road point against Texas Rush on Saturday. After Ryan Stinebaugh put the Rush ahead in the third minute, the Dynamo went on the attack, looking for the equalizer. Despite a flurry of good chances, Houston was unable to get past the Rush goalkeeper until Salazar's late strike.
With the draw, the Dynamo U-18s sit at 11-4-4 on the season and are in third place in the league on both points and points per game. Both the U-16s and U-18s will take another break from league play, before resuming in early April with a trip to Colorado to face Real Colorado and Colorado Rush.

Dynamo Academy players shine in Reserve League action
Five players from the Dynamo Academy, presented by Statoil, traveled to Frisco this weekend for the first Dynamo Reserves match of 2013. The five players were goalkeeper Leopoldo Castillo, defender Christian Gonzalez, midfielder Christian Diaz, forward Carlos Ibarra and striker Bryan Salazar, who recently signed a homegrown contract with the Houston Dynamo.
Of the five players on the trip, Salazar and Gonzalez were the only ones who featured in the match. Salazar came on as a halftime sub and drew a penalty kick in the second half. After beating a defender on the sideline, the Fort Bend Bush senior got past FC Dallas homegrown defender London Woodberry before he was taken down in the penalty box.
Despite Salazar's nifty footwork, it was Gonzalez who provided the game's fireworks. Holding on to a 2-1 lead late in the match, the 18-year-old right back beat Chris Seitz with a curling left-footed strike from 30 yards to give the Dynamo a 3-1 victory.
Dynamo U-13s travel to Mexico for friendlies
With a break in their league schedule, the Dynamo U-13s went to Guadalajara two weekends ago to play three friendlies against Mexican U-13 squads. The team finished with a 1-1-1 record, including a 3-1 win over the Chivas San Rafael U-13s, a feeder program for famed club Chivas de Guadalajara. Daniel Wiseman, JP Nava and Johnathon Diaz provided the goals for the Dynamo.
In addition to the win over Chivas San Rafael, the Dynamo drew Tecos U-13s 1-1 and lost to Chivas de Guadalajara U-13s 6-0.
