The El Salvador national team will play Club Deportivo Olimpia in a unique friendly match at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 at BBVA Compass Stadium, stadium officials announced today.
Tickets for the match will go on sale Monday, Feb. 6, with prices starting at $35. Tickets may be purchased online at BBVACompassStadium.com, by phone at 713-547-3000, or in person at the BBVA Compass Stadium Box Office (open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
El Salvador may feature stars such as San Jose Earthquakes MF Darwin Ceren and FWs Nelson Bonilla from Portugal’s Nacional and Rodolfo Zelaya from Alianza F.C. of El Salvador’s Primera Division. La Selecta recently qualified for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup by finishing third in the 2017 Copa Centroamericana.
Olimpia is one of the region’s most successful clubs and claimed its 30th league title last year during the 2015–16 Honduran Liga Nacional where now Dynamo FWs Alberth Elis and Romell Quioto combined for 27 goals. Los Leones feature four players from the Honduran National team that recently won the 2017 Copa Centroamericana and will compete for the Gold Cup this summer. Olimpia also produced Dynamo MFs Boniek GarcĂa and JosĂ© Escalante, former Dynamo midfielder Luis Garrido and forward Carlo Costly.
