Day One of the 2017 adidas MLS Player Combine took place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on Sunday as SuperDraft hopefuls showed their stuff in front of MLS technical staffs.
The day began with physical testing for Speed, Agility, and Power, then moved into a doubleheader of matches between pre-selected teams (see team rosters here). Team Control started the afternoon with a 3-1 win over Team Chaos, midfielder Daniel Johnson picked up a pair of assists for Control and drew a penalty kick. Zeiko Lewis converted the penalty, while Guillermo Delgado and Jackson Yuiell added the other goals. Jorge Gomez Sanchez scored the late, lone goal for Chaos.
The second match of the day saw Team Tango storm to a 4-0 win over Team Copa. David Goldsmith and Jonathan Lewis both scored two goals, including a penalty for both.
The second day of doubleheaders kicks off on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. CT and is available live on HoustonDynamo.com/live.
