HOUSTON (Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024) – *The Houston Dash acquired forward Cece Kizer plus a 2024 international roster spot in a trade with the Kansas City Current, both teams announced today. The Dash will send forward Nichelle Prince to the Current.

She has been an important part of this organization, someone who has represented this team with passion and pride, and more importantly, is one of the kindest people in this league. We wish her nothing but continued success,” Dash General Manager Alex Singer said.
“Cece has proven to be one of the most dynamic and effective attackers in this league. As we continue to build our roster into our game model, we are adding an enormous threat in the attacking third and a creative player who will add another layer of potency to the squad. We are excited to welcome her back to Houston. ”
Kizer joined the Current on June 9, 2022, following a trade with Racing Louisville FC, scoring a team-leading 7 goals in 15 matches. In 35 matches played for the Current, Kizer scored 13 goals and recorded three assists, making 32 starts.

Kizer played for Racing from 2021-2022 after being selected in the 2020 Expansion Draft. Kizer made 22 starts in 22 appearances for Racing during the club’s inaugural season, scoring five goals and recording an assist. In 2022, Kizer made seven starts in seven appearances for the club before being traded to Kansas City.
Kizer was selected by the Hoston Dash with the No. 13 pick in the 2019 NWSL Draft. While with the Dash, Kizer made 16 regular season appearances. The Ole Miss product helped the Dash capture its first championship in team history, winning the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup. Kizer came on as a substitute in the 29th minute of the Championship match against Chicago Red Stars.
Prince joined the Dash after being selected as the No. 28 overall pick in the 2017 NWSL Draft. Prince made 72 starts in 88 career regular season appearances, scoring 12 goals for Houston. The Canadian international was also a member of the team that won the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup.
TRANSACTION: Houston Dash and Kansas City Current have agreed to a trade that sends forward Nichelle Prince to Kansas City. In exchange, the Current will send forward Cece Kizer and a 2024 international roster spot to Houston.
