As the Houston Dash hit the field for the first time today in preparation for the 2016 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season, the team released its preseason roster.
The roster includes all 18 currently contracted players and the team’s 2016 NWSL College Draft first-round picks Janine Beckie, Rachel Daly and Cari Roccaro. Additionally, 11 non-contract invitees will join the club for the preseason.
Roccaro, the No. 5 overall selection, will join the team after she completes rehabilitation for a torn labrum in her hip. Goalkeeper Lydia Williams, currently with the Australia Women’s National Team, will join the team later this month.
The first preseason game is against Baylor University at 3 p.m. CDT on Saturday, March 19 at Houston Sports Park. This game is free and open to the public.
