Houston Dash defender Katie Naughton was named to the NWSL Team of the Month for July, the league announced today. Â
The defender led Houston to seven points in July with two victories and a draw. Houston tallied a clean sheet in that stretch with their 2-0 triumph over OL Reign on July 2. Individually, Naughton completed 88 percent of her tackles and 87 percent of her passes in July. Â
Naughton is the second Dash player to earn Team of the Month honors this season and this is the second time the defender has earned this honor. The 27-year-old was named to the Team of the Month in July 2018 as a member of the Chicago Red Stars. Â
Naughton and the Dash travel to Tacoma, Washington on Saturday to face OL Reign at 9 p.m. CT. The Dash return to Houston on Friday, Aug. 13 to host the Washington Spirit at 7:30 p.m. CT at BBVA Stadium.
