The Houston Dash signed midfielder Hannah Diaz to a two-year contract through the 2022 season, the Club announced today.
Diaz joins Houston after spending three years in France’s Division 1 Féminine after graduating from Saint Mary’s College. The California native joined Lille Olympique Sporting Club in Villeneuve-d'Ascq in 2018, starting in all seven of her appearances and scoring three goals in her first season. Diaz joined FC Fleury 91 for the 2019 and 2020 seasons and finished with 12 starts in 27 games.
During her collegiate career, Diaz stared in 76 of 79 appearances in her four years with the Gaels from 2014-17. The midfielder established herself as a key player at Saint Mary’s College, finishing her collegiate career with 24 goals and 10 assists. The midfielder was also the top offensive leader in her last two seasons with Saint Mary’s College. Diaz earned First Team All-WCC honors for three consecutive seasons in 2015-17 and was named to the WCC All-Academic team twice in 2016-17.
The Dash travel to Illinois this weekend to face Kealia Watt and Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, July 11. Fans can stream the match live on Paramount + and international fans can view the game on Twitch. The Dash return to BBVA Stadium on July 24 to host the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup champions Portland Thorns FC.
