HOUSTON (Oct. 17, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC clinched a 2026 playoff berth on Saturday night, following a series of results elsewhere in the MLS Western Conference. The postseason appearance is the third in the last four seasons for Houston. The Dynamo have won thirteen times in 2026 MLS Regular Season play. Just three Western Conference teams have won more. The Dynamo’s 2026 playoff run is powered by Shell Energy.
Impactful seasons from first-year contributors have made a real difference for Houston in 2026. Chief among those 2026 debutants has been Brazilian attacker Guilherme. The offseason addition has contributed to (goal or assist) a team-best 26 scores - good for 63.4% of Houston's 2026 goals, the highest such percentage in MLS this year.
The Dynamo have also been led by a terrific team defense. Only three MLS Western Conference teams have conceded fewer scores than Houston in 2026. The Dynamo have 11 clean sheets on the season, 10 of those coming from starting goalkeeper Jonathan Bond.
