Houston Dynamo FC unveiled the El Sol kit, the new primary jersey the team will don for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, earlier today as part of a league-wide initiative with adidas. Fans will have the opportunity to see El Sol in person and meet their favorite Dynamo players at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Feb. 21 as part of the season kickoff festivities at Buffalo Bayou Park.
El Sol celebrates the energy, light and guidance sourced by the Sun with a Texas twist. The luminous kit marks a moment in time with an abundance of orange tones that reflect the next chapter of the two-time MLS Cup champions.
El Sol features a broad spectrum of orange hues that serve as a nod to the history of the Dynamo. The original Wildcatter Orange can be found on the new primary kit and elements of the fan-favorite tequila sunrise jersey were adapted into the design of the kit. A digital hexagonal pattern can be found at the heart of the new design and evokes a heat map, an essential part of the Texas experience.
The Club’s monogram can be found within the state of Texas on the collar of the kit. The pride and passion for Houston extends to the rest of the Lone Star State and the design channels the rallying cries heard at Shell Energy Stadium of “Texas is Orange” and symbolizes the Club’s ambition to being the best team in the state.
For the fifth consecutive year the chest of the jersey features The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. MD Anderson has been an integral part of the Houston community for more than 80 years and is known as one of the world’s most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. In 2019 MD Anderson became the first cause-focused jersey sponsor of an MLS team and a year later extended their relationship to include the Houston Dash.
Fans can purchase their own El Sol kit now at MLSstore.com or at the Dynamo Team Shop at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The store will be open from 11am-4pm CT Wednesday through Saturday.
