Major League Soccer and ESPN announced today that kickoff for the match between Houston Dynamo FC and Austin FC on Oct. 24 has been moved to 4:00 p.m. CDT. The match will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Kickoff for the match was originally slated for 3 p.m. CDT.
The match on Oct. 24 will be the third and final meeting between the two sides in the regular season. Each of the first two meetings ended with the local team picking up three points and splitting the series. Houston enters the match with a 2-1-2 record against MLS teams in Texas after defeating FC Dallas on Sept. 18.
A win on Oct. 24 would ensure that the Dynamo finish with the best head-to-head record among the three Texas-based MLS clubs this season. Each club plays the other two teams three times each over the course of the season and Houston currently sports a 2-1-2 record against Austin FC and FC Dallas, while Austin is 2-2-0 against its fellow Lone Star State clubs and Dallas is 2-1-2. Houston won the season series against Dallas 1-0-2, giving them the tiebreaker if the two clubs finish with identical records against Austin.
In addition to watching the match on ESPN, fans in the Greater Houston area can listen to it on ESPN Radio 97.5 FM and 92.5 FM, as well as in Spanish on TUDN Radio 93.3 FM and 1010 AM.
