Houston Dynamo FC will begin preparations for their first campaign under head coach Ben Olsen on Sunday, Jan. 8 at Houston Sports Park, the Club announced today.
The Dynamo open the preseason with entrance exams on Friday, Jan. 6 and Saturday, Jan. 7 at Houston Sports Park. The team takes the field for the first time under Olsen at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, Jan. 8 and the entire training session will be open to media. Olsen and select Dynamo players will be available to media following training on Jan. 8.
The Dynamo travel to Mexico City on Monday, Jan. 30 to prepare for three closed-door scrimmages against Mexican teams. The first preseason game is scheduled against Deportivo Toluca FC, the runner up in the 2022 Liga MX Apertura campaign, on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The Dynamo will face Tlaxcala FC from the Liga de Expansion MX, the Mexican second division, on Feb. 4 in Toluca. The Dynamo close their trip to Mexico with a preseason game against the seven-time Liga MX champion, Club Universidad Nacional (UNAM Pumas), on Feb. 7.
The Dynamo return to Texas on Feb. 7 to prepare for their first scrimmages against MLS clubs. Houston will travel to South Florida on Feb. 10 to play two friendlies in Fort Lauderdale on Feb. 11 and 15. Opponents will be named in the near future. The Dynamo close the preseason at home against FC Dallas on Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The Dynamo open the 2023 MLS regular season with a two-game road trip, beginning with their first visit to TQL Stadium on Feb. 25 to face FC Cincinnati. Houston will host Austin FC for the home opener on March 18 at 7:30 p.m. CT. For tickets and additional information, visit HoustonDynamoFC.com.
