The Houston Dynamo have recalled defender Anthony Arena from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for Saturday’s game against the New England Revolution.
Arena, 23, joined Pittsburgh on loan on March 24 and has started each of the Riverhounds first two games in the new season. Arena earned USL PRO Team of the Week honors after his Pittsburgh debut at Orlando City on March 29 and has played 180 minutes in two games. The defender was selected by the Dynamo in the 2013 Supplemental Draft out of Wake Forest University. The Kenmore, Wash. native made his MLS debut at Columbus last June and also appeared in a 2-0 win over FC Tucson in the U.S. Open Cup.
Arena is expected to return to the Riverhounds following Saturday’s game between the Dynamo and Revolution. Kickoff from Gillette Stadium is set for 4 p.m. CT.
