Houston Dynamo sign forward Mark Sherrod, goalkeeper Michael Lisch

The Houston Dynamo have signed forward Mark Sherrod and goalkeeper Michael Lisch.  Per club and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Sherrod, 23, was selected with the 32nd pick (second round) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Memphis. He scored 42 career goals in four seasons and was named Conference USA Player of the Year in 2011 after scoring 19 goals, a school-record.  The Knoxville, Tenn. native was an All-American Athletic Conference selection after tallying seven goals in 18 games with the Tigers in 2013. The 6-foot-3 forward was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 after scoring 12 goals. 

Selected in the third round (54th pick) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Lisch, 23, recorded three shutouts in the NCAA tournament to help guide the University of New Mexico to the NCAA College Cup. The Austin, Texas native played three seasons at Wake Forest University before enrolling as a graduate student at New Mexico for his senior season. The 6-foot-4 goalkeeper led Conference USA with 11 shutouts and registered a 0.84 goals against average in 2013. A product of Westlake (Austin) High School and Lonestar Soccer Club, Lisch was a teammate of Dynamo defender Anthony Arena at Wake Forest, where he earned Academic All-ACC honors in 2012.
