Here are some notables from today's lineup:
- FW/MF Giles Barnes will make his 100th appearance in MLS, all with the Houston Dynamo, in today’s match.
- Barnes will wear the captain’s armband today and is expected to wear the armband throughout the season. He becomes the fourth full-time captain in Houston Dynamo history, joining Wade Barrett (2006-09), Brian Ching (2010-13) and Brad Davis (2014-15).
- Three players will start in their Houston Dynamo debuts in today’s match: D Jalil Anibaba, MF Christian Maidana and MF Andrew Wenger. D Agus and MF David Rocha will have the opportunity to make their debut off the bench.
- GK Joe Willis will make his first career start on opening day.
