Dynamo Academy defender Sebastien Ibeagha (Fort Bend Hightower, Duke University) was one of several Americans to make memorable debuts at the international U-20 level on Friday in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Ibeagha played all 90 minutes at center back, while Maccabi Haifa midfielder Alex Zahavi scored the United States U-20s' only goal in his first match for the U.S. in the opening match of the Torneo de las Americas. The United States, however, lost to Colombia on penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie. The round-robin tournament will continue with Mexico facing Colombia on Saturday and the United States taking on Mexico on Sunday.

Zahavi's 48th-minute tally came on an assist from West Ham's Sebastian Lletget, who headed LA Galaxy striker Tristan Bowen's cross into the path of his teammate. The strike looked as though it would hold up as the game-winner until Fabian Castillo equalized for Colombia four minutes from time.

The South American side prevailed in penalty kicks, 3-1, with goals coming from Edwin Andres Cardona, Juan David Diaz, and Hector A. Quinonez. Notre Dame's Dillon Powers, a late addition to the squad, converted the lone U.S. spot kick.

Aside from LA's Bowen, several other MLS players featured for Thomas Rongen's side, including New York striker Juan Agudelo, Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jon Kempin, and Philadelphia defender Amobi Okugo, all of whom went 90 minutes, plus D.C. United's Conor Shanosky, Chivas USA's Cesar Zamora, and Toronto FC's Fuad Ibrahim, who subbed on in the second half. Houston academy player Sebastien Ibeagha also started in the backline.

Center back Gale Agbossoumonde, who earned his first senior team cap during the Yanks' 1-0 victory in South Africa, was left unused on the bench.
