(on preparing for the Philadelphia Union) "Difficult match against a team that is on top of the table right now. A very strong, direct and good in transition team that is well established with (head coach) Jim Curtin. We are preparing for a good match and hopefully we can have a good performance on the road."
(on the advantage of having experienced players) "It's a difficult place to play in Philly, but our group is very experienced and resilient. We have won games on the road and that is difficult, especially in this league. It's about going out there and performing. We will be prepared and looking to get points. At the end of the day, we have to go out there and perform because we lost too many points at home. There's no other way, we have to go out and we have to get a result."
(on the defense of the team) "It depends on what part of the game, if we talk about transition, make sure that we are tied in defending – so we stop counters. We have to make sure to level the field and we minimize space for their team to play in between us. There are a lot of little things here and there, and details that we can go here and say, but most important is minimizing the mistakes. Mistakes are costing us points this year, and when you go to a difficult place like Philadelphia, you have to minimize your mistakes in order to get points. That's the key for us on Saturday."
(on Sebas Ferreira) "Every player goes through ups and downs during the season, and it's a longer season. I wouldn't call that diminishing minutes, it's a lot that goes with that. There are strategic decisions, game plans and guys performing well and playing confidently. It's normal in a team environment. When we want to create that competitive environment where everyone has a chance to play, everyone is going to contribute to the team. When guys are not in the starting XI, or not in the 18, that's a normal thing. It's just a matter of the dynamic that we have here in the club, and you have to work your way back to get on the starting lineup. That requires work, confidence and performance on the field, I think that will create a great environment for us as a team going forward."
(on confidence to get into playoffs) "I like to be positive, I feel like we are a team that has been playing very well on the road and getting those results on the road. One thing that I have been talking about consistently throughout the year is that we need to get better at our home performances. I am confident in the group that we can get results on the road. As long as we get better, performing better at home, we are going always put ourselves with a good chance to get something out of it. Once we have a chance, we will fight for it until the end.”
(on FW Nelson Quinones) "An attacking player that can go wide, mostly on the left side; left and right, even up top. Can play all three positions. Very aggressive, very good 1v1, very aggressive going to goal and brings some qualities that we are missing as a team. We look forward to bringing him to town and making sure that he joins the team as soon as possible. We are excited to bring him in, start developing him with the team, and make sure he can help us with this last push in the last 10-12 games we have."

(sobre cuál ha sido el mensaje para el equipo durante esta semana) “El mensaje ha sido que tenemos que ser más contundentes, mejores jugando en casa, hemos perdido muchos puntos como locales. Sin embargo, no hay tiempo para lamentarse. Ahora nos corresponde jugar afuera, nos ha ido bien en la carretera este año. Ahora el plan y la expectativa del grupo es ir a Philadelphia a hacer un buen juego”.
(sobre cuál ha sido el aporte como titular o como suplente de Darwin Quintero al equipo) “Darwin (Quintero) entiende su función dentro del equipo. Trae mucha calidad, principalmente en el último tercio de la cancha. Es un jugador que puede marcar diferencia ahí, frente a la línea de gol. Sabe muy bien su estatus dentro del grupo y estamos muy felices de tenerlo con nosotros”.
(sobre qué espera que le aporte Nelson Quiñones al equipo) “Es un jugador muy directo, que le gusta encarar defensas, que le gusta tomar los “uno contra uno”, muy rápido, muy agresivo, explosivo. Creo que nos ayudará mucho. Puede jugar en cualquiera de las tres posiciones ahí al frente, izquierda, derecha o centro. Es un jugador joven que todavía tiene mucho que desarrollar y ojalá pueda llegar aquí cuanto antes, incorporarse al equipo y que nos ayude en los últimos 10 o 12 juegos que nos restan, para sacar resultados y ganar partidos”.
(sobre cuánta presión sufre el equipo ante el hecho de no estar en puestos de playoffs y que la temporada entra en su recta final) “Creo que no sienten presión, aunque por supuesto salimos muy decepcionados del último compromiso. Todos sentimos que era un partido para sacar los tres puntos. De nuevo, desilusionamos a nuestro público jugando en casa. Creo que esa fue la peor parte, pero el grupo sabe su potencial, que aún restan muchos juegos por disputar, todavía hay mucho chance y muchos puntos en pugna. Iremos juego a juego, dejando todo en la cancha. Desde hace unas semanas cada juego es una final y esa debe ser la mentalidad que debemos tener”.

(on the amount of time he has seen this season) “Obviously, you always want to be in the game from the start, but happy with what I've done. We know that we can improve, that we can give more every day, in every training session. We're working on that. The team does not have the points that I think it should have, that does not allow me to be 100 percent happy. But we know that we have accomplished a lot this season.”
(on the team acquiring Nelson Quiñones) “I don't know him yet, I know he's very young, I've seen some of his characteristics. If they bring him in, it's because they believe he has the conditions to help the team get on the right path and go further than we currently have.”
(on what this team lacks in terms of culture) “The ownership group is investing in the team. They have brought quality players. (sobre qué ha sido lo más frustrante esta temporada) “Ha sido frustrante porque se han realizado buenos partidos y el rival tiene una o dos oportunidades y nos anotan. Entonces eso te deja frustrado porque eres el que propone, el que siempre busca el arco rival. Eso te deja tocado, pero esto es fútbol, sabemos que tenemos que reponernos porque en caso contrario se nos puede ir el tren de la clasificación a los playoffs”.
(sobre qué han hecho en los entrenamientos para lograr la contundencia en los últimos tres cuartos de cancha) “Siempre hay cosas que mejorar, no solo la falta de contundencia, estamos trabajando como conjunto, trabajamos para que todas nuestras líneas sean compactas, seguras, que no nos sorprendan. En los últimos partidos en casa hemos estado atacando insistentemente y el rival en un contragolpe nos hace gol. En alguno te puedes reponer, en otros no. Día a día trabajamos para que eso mejore”.
(sobre en lo personal como te sientes) “Obviamente uno siempre quiere estar desde el inicio en el juego, pero contento con lo que he hecho, sabemos que se puede mejorar, que se puede dar más todos los días, en todos los entrenamientos. Estamos en eso. El equipo no tiene los puntos que creo debería tener, eso no deja que sea feliz al 100 %. Pero sabemos que se han hecho cosas muy buenas”.
(sobre mentalmente cómo anda el equipo, habida cuenta de su derrota pasada y de que no ha podido ganarle a Philadelphia en sus tres últimas confrontaciones) “El equipo está mentalizado en que este próximo partido nos va a dar ese aire para poder continuar con la ilusión de clasificar a los playoffs. Estamos mentalmente fuertes, sabiendo que tenemos que dar el todo por el todo”.
(sobre cuál ha sido el aporte de Héctor Herrera al grupo) “Todos hemos visto lo que él puede entregar, es un jugador comprometido y que viene a dar el todo por el todo como el resto de los que estamos aquí”.
(sobre qué tanto sabes de tu compatriota colombiano Nelson Quiñones quien viene para reforzar al club) “En verdad no lo conozco, sé que es muy joven, he visto algunas de sus características. Si lo traen es porque creen que tiene condiciones para ayudar a que el equipo salga de este momento y vaya más delante de lo que tenemos actualmente”.
(sobre qué le falta a este equipo para ascender en la cultura ganadora) “Sinceramente, no sé. La directiva está invirtiendo en el equipo. Han traído jugadores de calidad. Tal vez estar más concentrados en los detalles, preparados para los contra ataques que nos pueden hacer. Ser más determinantes en esa última jugada. Son esos detalles los que van a hacer crecer al equipo y nos enfocamos en eso. El club está haciendo su parte al invertir en jugadores jóvenes, al traer jugadores de alta calidad. Se va encaminando todo a que en un futuro no muy lejano ser un contendor al título. Sin dejar a un lado querer esos resultados desde ya”.
(sobre si es justo pedir playoffs este año) “Vamos a pelear mientras haya posibilidad matemática. Con el plantel que tenemos y con algunos resultados adversos debido a que el fútbol a veces es caprichoso, por eso nos sacamos los tres puntos. Pero mientras haya posibilidad lucharemos. No estamos tan lejos, estamos a cinco puntos de la zona de clasificación. Si queremos acercarnos tenemos que empezar desde este mismo sábado, consiguiendo los tres puntos como visitante”.
