Save of the Week: Week 11

Watch out, MLS goalkeepers – field players are eyeing your hardware.

This week's Save of the Week contenders include not one, but two goal-line clearances by non-GKs, as Sporting Kansas City midfielder Paulo Nagamura and Houston Dynamo fullback Kofi Sarkodie have earned nominations for their quick thinking in their team's victories on Sunday and Wednesday, respectively.

Nagamura shuffled into the goalmouth to deny Dynamo striker Jason Johnson's corner-kick header in the frantic final stages of Sporting's historic 1-0 win in Houston over the weekend. Sarkodie did much the same to Dwayne De Rosario in a similar scenario not once, but twice in Houston's 4-0 trouncing of D.C. United on May 8.

There's plenty of quality glovework to chose from too, however.

United 'keeper Bill Hamid has been nominated for his fine stop on Giles Barnes in Wednesday's losing effort, while Toronto FC's Joe Bendik got the nod for a leaping, backpedaling fingertips denial of San Jose Earthquakes Chris Wondolowski's angled chip. Meanwhile, Wondo's teammate Jon Busch is also in the running for the reflex save that denied Seattle's Lamar Neagle a hat trick at CenturyLink Field on Saturday.

Now it's up to you. Make your pick in the poll at right. Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday.
