The Houston Dynamo have a new television home – KUBE TV, Channel 57 – for the 2017 season, the club and the station announced today. KUBE TV will air 24 Dynamo matches this season after carrying three games during the 2016 season.
In addition to the match broadcasts, KUBE TV will air a weekly 30-minute Dynamo and Dash magazine show that will air on Friday nights at 10 p.m. throughout the season. The show, titled “Dynamo & Dash Zone,” will debut on Friday, March 3. KUBE TV will also re-air each Dynamo match in its entirety at Midnight the night of the match.
“We are excited about this new business development and what it means for our club. This new TV partnership is among the many positive improvements heading into 2017,” said Dynamo President Chris Canetti. “Most importantly, with The KUBE being over-the-air and fully-distributed across the Houston market, all Dynamo fans have the opportunity to see every game on TV, which has not been the case since 2012. We look forward to working with The KUBE in growing our viewership and connecting with even more local fans.”
KUBE TV, which televises “TV For You,” is available free over the air to every person and every household in the greater Houston area. The station is Houston’s leader in live televised sports, with a portfolio that currently includes ACC basketball, ACC football, High School football as well as two local sports shows: The High School SportsZone and SportsZone Unfiltered.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to announce this partnership as the new home of the Houston Dynamo! We will televise 24 combined home and away games,” said JD Huey, President & General Manager of KUBE TV. “The Houston Dynamo are proven champions and this year is going be an incredible year! We are very proud to provide soccer fans across Greater Houston a place they can call home to watch their games.”
