STARTING XI NOTES:

  • GK Joe Willis is making his 15th start in the U.S. Open Cup and his 10th Open Cup start with the Dynamo. Willis is now tied in first place in the club’s all-time Open Cup appearance list.
  • Willis will make his first career start in an Open Cup Final. He led D.C. United to the Final in 2013, but did not play in the Final.
  • Willis can earn his 12th career win in the Open Cup and improve his career record to 12-3 in the tournament.
  • DF Andrew Wenger is starting in his sixth U.S. Open Cup game for Houston and will be making his 22nd appearance and 21st start of the 2018 season across all competitions.
  • Wenger will be playing his third Open Cup Final. His two previous appearances were in 2014 and 2015 with the Philadelphia Union.
  • DF Alejandro Fuenmayor will make his fourth start in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup this evening.
  • DF Philippe Senderos will be making his fourth start in the U.S. Open Cup and his fifth appearance in the tournament.
  • DF DaMarcus Beasley will be making his fifth U.S. Open Cup start and his 24th start of the 2018 season across all competitions.
  • Beasley will be playing in his third Open Cup Final. He won his two previous Final appearances with the Chicago Fire in 2000 and 2003.
  • MF Boniek García will make his fourth start in the U.S. Open Cup and seventh appearance in the tournament this evening.
  • MF Tomás Martínez will be making his third start in the U.S. Open Cup and his fourth appearance in the tournament today.
  • MF Juan David Cabezas will make his Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup debut this evening.
  • FW Romell Quioto will play in his fourth U.S. Open Cup game and make his third start in the tournament this evening.
  • Quioto could score his third goal in this year’s Open Cup tournament.
  • FW Mauro Manotas will make his eighth start in the U.S. Open Cup, which makes him the second Dynamo player to play eight games in the Open Cup.
  • Manotas needs two goals to become the first player in club history to score 20 goals in a calendar year.
  • Manotas needs one goal to match the top scoring total in this year’s tournament. David Ochoa of Miami United FC and Los Angeles FC forward Diego Rossi are tied for the scoring lead with five goals in four games.
  • Manotas can claim the Golden Boot if he scores twice against Philadelphia, which would give him six in this year’s tournament.
  • Manotas can extend his lead in the club’s Open Cup scoring list. He has eight career goals in Open Cup play, which is four more than the next closest player.
  • Manotas can score in his third consecutive Open Cup match.
  • FW Alberth Elis will make his third start in the U.S. Open Cup and his fourth overall appearance in the tournament this evening.
