Houston Dynamo forward Mauro Manotas earned a spot in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Team of the Week after the second leg of Round 16 matches.
Manotas subbed into Tuesday's match against CD Guastatoya in the 69th minute, and shortly thereafter the Dynamo went down 1-0 with the aggregate score tied at 1-1. Manotas turned the scoreline in quick order, however, getting onto the end of an Alberth Elis cross in the 77th minute to restore Houston's advantage, then scoring with a deflected free kick in the 85th minute to put the series to bed.
Thanks to Manotas' performance, the Dynamo advanced to the quarterfinal round of the tournament where they will face Tigres UANL. The Dynamo host the first leg on Tuesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. at BBVA Compass Stadium (TICKETS). The second leg in Monterrey will be played Tuesday, March 12 at 10 p.m.
