Zamora Sports announced today that PNC Stadium will host Liga MX clubs CF Monterrey and Santos Laguna in a friendly match on Saturday, June 18 at 8:00 p.m.
Tickets for this match will go on sale to the public on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at SeatGeek.com.
Santos Laguna returns to PNC Stadium for the first time since Dec. 29, 2018, when it faced Club América in front of 21,853 sold-out spectators. In this friendly match, which was the final of the 2018 Tour Aguila, it ended in a 1-1 draw.
CF Monterrey last played at PNC Stadium in the Dynamo Charities Cup on June 28, 2018, the most recent version of this match, which has been put on hold for the last few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In that match, Monterrey came out on top by a final score of 2-1.
Santos Laguna finished this season in 14th place in the Liga MX table with a record of 5-5-7. The team is led by goalkeeper and captain Carlos Acevedo, who has two career appearances with the Mexican National Team, and midfielder Brian Lozano, who has five goals so far this season.
On the other side of the pitch, Monterrey ended the regular season in seventh place in the league standings with a 7-5-5 record. The team is led by 31-year-old forward Rogelio Funes Mori, who has been with the team since 2015.
