Rio Grande Valley FC Toros’ Michael Nelson has been selected to the USL Team of the Week for Week 15 of the 2018 season. Nelson held down the fort for the Toros as they captured their fifth clean sheet of the season.
Nelson, the first round pick for the Houston Dynamo in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, recorded a six-save shutout in his professional debut while on loan with the Toros, as RGV FC played to a 0-0 draw with second-place Phoenix Rising FC.
Ottawa Fury FC forward Adonijah Reid has been voted the USL Player of the Week for Week 15 of the 2018 season. Reid received 58 percent of the poll conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Rio Grande Valley FC’s Michael Nelson and Penn FC’s Lucky Mkosana finished tied for second place with 13 percent.
