The national teams of Honduras and Peru will face off at BBVA Compass Stadium on Wednesday, November 14. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. with Honduras as the home team. This event is produced by Planet Futbol.
“We have been fortunate to host some great international matches in our first year of operation and we look forward to hosting Honduras and Peru at BBVA Compass Stadium,” said BBVA Compass Stadium general manager Doug Hall. “Houston soccer fans have been very supportive of the Dynamo, as well as international teams, so we anticipate a good crowd for this event.”
Tickets will start at $25 and be available beginning Wednesday, October 31 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bbvacompassstadium.com and www.axs.com, or by calling 888-929-7849 or at the BBVA Compass Stadium Ticket Office. Tickets may also be purchased at select Fiesta stores.
The Honduran national football team, nicknamed Los Catrachos is a rising team in CONCACAF. They finished third in the 2001 Copa America, and qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which was their first appearance in the competition since 1982. Recently, Honduras progressed to the fourth round of CONCACAF qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The team qualified for the Hexagonal round by finishing first in their group, which included Panama, Canada, and Cuba.
The Peruvian national football team competes against the other nine members of FIFA’s CONMEBOL confederation, which encompasses the countries of South America. La Blanquirroja, as the team is known to fans, has played at four FIFA World Cup finals. Currently the team is ranked 37th in the FIFA standings..
