TEAM NOTES:

  • The Dynamo notched their first come-from-behind road win since May 3, 2014 when they came from 1-0 down to beat Chivas USA 4-1.
  • Houston has now earned a result in six of its last seven road games, posting a record of 1-1-5 in that time.
  • Houston won an away game while conceding multiple goals for the first time since Oct. 25, 2009 when they defeated Chivas USA 3-2.
  • The Dynamo have taken the lead in each of the first five away matches this season. The last time Houston held the lead in five straight games away from home was from 2010-11 when they had the lead in five consecutive away games from Sept. 22, 2010 at Sporting Kansas City through March 25, 2011 at Seattle.
  • The Dynamo scored the game’s first goal when FW Romell Quioto scored on a breakaway in the fourth minute. It was the seventh time this season, and the fifth consecutive game in which the Dynamo scored the game’s first goal. Houston is now 4-1-2 this season when scoring first.
  • The Dynamo scored their sixth goal of the season in the first 15 minutes of a game, doing so in their fifth game this year. Houston is 4-1-0 this year when scoring in the first 15 minutes.
  • The Dynamo were awarded a penalty kick for the first time this season when Chicago GK Richard Sánchez took down FW Mauro Manotas in the penalty area in the 55th minute. FW Alberth Elis converted the penalty for Houston’s first goal from the spot this year.
  • The Dynamo trailed at halftime, 2-1. It marked the third time this season that Houston went into intermission trailing their opponents. The Dynamo are now 1-1-1 this year when trailing at halftime.
  • Houston outshot Chicago 13-6. It was the seventh time this season that the Dynamo outshot their opponents, and they improved to 4-3-0 in those games.
  • Chicago had the better of possession, holding the ball for 52.7 percent of the match. It marked the sixth time this year that Houston had less of the ball than their opponents, and the team improved to 3-1-2 in those games.
  • The Dynamo used their 10th different starting lineup this season. Since the start of the 2017 season, head coach Wilmer Cabrera has now used 42 different starting lineups in 44 matches.

  • MF Eric Alexander started his 150th career game and made his 200th career appearance this afternoon.
  • FW Alberth Elis scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season to take the team lead. It was his second multi-goal game in his MLS career and his first since Sept. 27, 2017 vs. the LA Galaxy.
  • Elis scored his first goal on a penalty kick in the 56th minute. He has now recorded a goal and/or an assist in eight of Houston’s 10 games this year.
  • Elis’ second goal came on a breakaway in the 74th minute. It was his fourth career game-winning goal and his first of the year.
  • Elis made his 36th career appearance and his 28th start today.
  • FW Romell Quioto scored his 10th goal with the Dynamo when he hit the back of the net on a breakaway in the fourth minute. He became the 15th player to score at least 10 goals with the club.
  • Quioto made his sixth start of the season and his 20th career MLS regular season start today.
  • MF Tomás Martínez made his 14th career start and appeared in his 18th MLS game today.
