TEAM NOTES:

• The Dynamo conceded the opening goal of the game when New York City FC FW David Villa scored in the sixth minute. It was the fourth time this year that the Dynamo gave up the game’s first goal, and they are now 1-2-1 when conceding first.
• The Dynamo and New York City were tied 1-1 at halftime. It marked the fifth occasion this year in which Houston was tied with its opponent, and the team is now 2-2-1 in those games.
• The Dynamo outshot New York City, 21-13. It marked the eighth time this year that Houston generated more shots than their opponent, and they improved to 5-3-0 in those games.
• New York had possession of the ball for 55.1 percent of the match. It was the seventh time this year that Houston had less of the ball than their opponents, and the team improved to 4-1-2 in those games.
• The Dynamo used their 11th different starting combination in 11 games this year. Head Coach Wilmer Cabrera has now used 43 different lineup combinations in 45 games with the club.

• DF Alejandro Fuenmayor scored his second goal of the season when he headed in a free kick from FW Romell Quioto in the 21st minute.
• With two goals eight appearances this season, Fuenmayor has already matched his career total in 72 games for Carabobo FC, his previous club in Venezuela.
• Fuenmayor made his seventh MLS regular season start today and his fifth in a row.
• MF Tomás Martínez scored his third goal of the season when he tapped in a left-footed shot from the penalty spot in the 69th minute.
• Martínez registered his first career game-winning goal with his 69th-minute strike.
• Martínez has now had a goal or an assist in three consecutive games, which is the longest such streak of his young career.
