Ron Muffler’s life has taken him around the world, from Chicago to Barcelona and now back to Houston. He met his wife Silvia in Spain and had two sons prior to returning to America toward the end of 2010.

Muffler returned to the Bayou City after more than a decade in Europe and for a large part of their lives they followed soccer closely. So, when they returned to Houston it was a no-brainer to sign up for season tickets.

“We’re very much a soccer, football family. My kids played a lot of soccer growing up. My youngest was 12 years old when we got the tickets, and now he's 22. So, we’ve grown up watching the Dynamo,” Muffler said. “We used to go to the games at Robertson Stadium. Shortly after the new stadium opened, we got season tickets.”

Muffler said one of his many favorite memories throughout the years supporting the Dynamo was when they claimed their most recent domestic title. Houston hosted the Philadelphia Union in the final of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in Sept. 2018.

“One of the more exciting times was winning the US Open Cup in 2018,” Muffler said. "Performing well in that tournament was pretty exciting. The stadium is also really great, when it's a packed house there is a buzz, it's a really nice and really fun environment.”

Muffler says he and his son Andy, who is studying sports management at the University of Houston, usually attend games together and talk about all the different aspects of the game.

“He's very much ingrained in the sport and team,” Muffler said. "He can tell you each player by name, what their stats are, who they played for, what club they left, he knows all that information.”

Muffler cherishes the moments he shares with his son and looks forward to Saturday’s match as the Dynamo return to PNC Stadium for the first time since July 23 against Minnesota United.

“It's a time where we're away from home, but yet we're together doing something together.”
