With a roster core of veteran players, it is no surprise that most Dynamo games include players reaching noteworthy milestones. Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Portland was no exception, with several Dynamo players reaching appearance milestones.
Most notably, it was midfielder Brad Davis'Â’ 250th career regular season start in his 12-year MLS career. Davis is the 37th player in Major League Soccer history to reach 250 regular season starts. If Davis starts 25 or more games for the next two seasons (in addition to his four starts already this year), he will reach the exclusive 300-start club by the end of the 2014 season. Only six players in league history have started 300 regular season games.
Defender Bobby Boswell made his 150th regular season appearance with the Dynamo. He is the fourth player to reach 150 regular season games for Houston, joining Davis, Corey Ashe and Brian Ching. Moreover, Boswell has started the most regular season games by an MLS defender since 2005, (227 starts). Boswell's rookie season was 2005, so the center back is among the most durable defenders since he entered the league.
Boswell set a career-high with 33 regular season games in 2012, surpassing his previous career-high for games in a season of 30, set in 2006. The 30-year-old has appeared in at least 23 games and made 22 starts or more each season of his career.
Forward Omar Cummings entered as a substitute in the second half for the 150th regular season appearance of his career. Cummings has also been a durable professional, appearing in 26 games or more in every season after his rookie campaign in 2007.
Finally, midfielder Adam Moffat made his 75th career regular season start. The Scotland native finished one shy of career highs in both starts (23) and games (24) last season.
