Soccer fans throughout Houston will be able to watch Houston Dynamo away matches in Spanish on TeleXitos for the remainder of this season, the Dynamo and Telemundo Houston / KTMD announced today.
TeleXitos, a Spanish-language multicast network owned by NBCUniversal that is available in 29 U.S. markets including Houston, is available for free, over-the-air throughout the Greater Houston area on digital channel 47.2. TeleXitos is also available on cable. In the Houston DMA, TeleXitos is scheduled to carry 14 of Houston Dynamo’s 15 remaining road matches, starting with this weekend’s contest at Seattle Sounders FC. That match will kick off at 9 p.m. CDT.
Veteran sports broadcasters Alex Parra and Enrique Vasquez will call the action for the games that will air on TeleXitos. Parra has been involved in the coverage of major sporting events and leagues for over 20 years, including calling Houston Dynamo matches in 2010-11 along with Houston Rockets matches. Vasquez has more than 25 years of broadcasting experience, including for the Houston Texans and the University of Oklahoma.
The only remaining road match which will not be televised on TeleXitos will be Houston’s match at FC Dallas on Sunday, Aug. 25, which will air nationally on FS1.
The Dynamo are off to the strongest start to a season in club history at 6-1-1 currently sit third in the Western Conference. Forwards Mauro Manotas, Alberth Elis and Memo Rodriguez have combined for 13 goals and 10 assists through eight matches, while the back line led by Honduran national team captain Maynor Figueroa has conceded just nine goals so far this year.
