Three Houston Dynamo FC Academy players received invitations to the upcoming U-17 U.S. Youth National Team camp. The three players that were invited by U.S. Soccer are Brian Alanis, Andre Gitau and Luis Moreno.
The camp will take place from Nov. 1-8 and will be hosted in Chula Vista, California. The camp will include 36 players from around the country and aims to provide a platform for talented young American soccer players to continue to develop their games in a way that will hopefully propel them to eventually playing for the senior U.S. Men’s National Team.
All three players have excelled since joining the Dynamo Academy in 2018, catching the eye of the U.S. Soccer Federation’s talent evaluators. While each has been to a number of identification centers, this will be the first national camp for the trio. When speaking about the camp invites, the players were quick to give credit to the club that helped them develop to this point.
“We all feel grateful for what the team has done in order for us to get the call-up,” Gitau said. “The trainings have been competitive, and they have helped us develop into the players that we are today.
According to U-17 head coach Adin Osmanbasic, the announcement is a meaningful achievement for everybody in the Dynamo Academy.
“We’re all super excited about it,” Osmanbasic said. “It was a collective effort. And these are guys that we want to hopefully send to Kenny (Bundy) and the U-23s to train and build on this experience.”
