Lassiter’s cross was cleared by the Austin backline, but bounced off Austin defender Julio Cascante for the final goal of the game. Dynamo goalkeeper Marko Maric returned to the starting lineup after missing 10 games due to injury. The Dynamo shot stopper finished with five saves against Austin.

Houston enters Sunday’s game with a 6-4-6 (WLD) record at home and look to snap a two-game losing streak on Sunday after losing in Austin last weekend. The Dynamo are 3-1-2 in their last five games at home and look to finish with seven victories at PNC Stadium this season. The Dynamo have a 6-6-3 record in the final home game of the regular season.

Colorado travels to PNC Stadium after a cross-country trip to New England on Wednesday. The Rapids fell 1-0 to the Revolution and their starting lineup on Wednesday featured key rotations for players like Michael Barrios, Jack Price and Mark-Anthony Kaye. The Rapids have won the two previous meetings with Houston this season and enter the game with a three-game winning streak against the Dynamo.

The Dynamo close the regular season on Wednesday on the road against Club de Foot Montreal. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and fans can follow the action live on QuestTexas ch. 55 in English and TeleXitos ch. 47.2 in Spanish.

Here are three key points ahead of Sunday’s game:

  1. DYNAMO LOOK FOR THREE POINTS IN FINAL MATCH AT PNC STADIUM THIS SEASON: Houston enters Sunday’s game with a 6-4-6 (WLD) record at home and look to snap a two-game losing streak on Sunday after losing in Austin last weekend. The Dynamo are 3-1-2 in their last five games at home and look to finish with seven victories at PNC Stadium this season. Those three victories came against two of their in-state rivals beginning with a 3-0 victory over Austin FC on Sept. 11, the Dynamo scored three goals the following Saturday to earn three points against FC Dallas and Houston defeated Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 on Oct. 16. Houston’s lone loss in that five game stretch was against the LA Galaxy on Oct. 20.
  2. POTENTIAL CHANGES FOR SUNDAY: Dynamo head coach Tab Ramos mentioned in his media availability on Friday that Sunday’s lineup could feature players that have seen limited participation in 2021. One of the frontrunners for additional playing time is defender Ian Hoffmann, who enters with four appearances this season. Hoffmann earned a bulk of his minutes this season last Sunday when he came on for Zarek Valentin in the second half against Austin. The 20-year-old joined the organization midway through the 2020 season and has been one of the go-to options for Ramos in the last two games.
  3. COLORADO LOOK FOR SHARE OF TOP SPOT IN THE WEST: The Rapids look to clinch one of the top two spots in the Western Conference in the final week of the regular season, beginning with Sunday’s game at PNC Stadium. This is the penultimate game for the Rapids who close the season at home against Carlos Vela and Los Angeles FC on Nov. 7. Colorado currently sits in third place, three points shy of first place Sporting Kansas City with two games left in the regular season. This would be the best finish for the Rapids since they finished second in the Western Conference in 2016. The Rapids finished with 58 points that season and a 15-6-13 record.
