Throwback Thursday: Remembering the Greatness of Dwayne De Rosario

It was a bittersweet moment earlier this week when Dynamo legend Dwayne De Rosario announced that he is officially hanging up his boots. No one will ever quite be able to match the flair DeRo brought to the pitch...or correctly replicate that strut. We've put together a few factoids along with a some of our favorite moments from DeRo's time in orange to celebrate his unbelievable career.

In the franchise's inaugural match on April 2, 2006, DeRo recorded 4 assists, a franchise record to this day, on all 4 of Brian Ching's goals in front of a packed house at The Rob to propel the Dynamo to a 5-2 victory.

DeRo also scored the winning goal in the 2006 MLS All-Star game vs. Chelsea...and was named All-Star game MVP.

But most importantly from that year, DeRo converted his penalty kick and was part of the Dynamo's 1st MLS Cup victory in our 1st season.

Then again in 2007, DeRo scored the winning goal in 74th minute to secure our 2nd MLS Cup in a row. MVP! MVP! MVP!

His all-time Dynamo playoff stats:
10 GP, 10 GS, 2 goals, 4 assists

And when pictures don't do a career justice, it's always nice to have your own highlight reel:

Thank you for everything DeRo! Congratulations on an amazing run!
