BURNABY, British Columbia (April 23, 2025) – Houston Dynamo 2 earned a 3-1 victory at Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 tonight, improving the team’s record to 4-2-0 (WLD) this season.

Notably, attacker Joshua Bolma made his Dynamo 2 debut tonight as a starter after signing with the team earlier today.

Vancouver took the lead in the 44th minute when Jackson Castro found the back of the net with a strike from a direct free kick.

Dynamo Dos leveled the match in the third minute of first-half stoppage time following a dramatic sequence inside the box. The play began with a saved penalty that struck the crossbar and fell into the feet of Dynamo 2 captain Diego Gonazlez, who forced another save from Adrian Zendejas. Forward Stephen Annor then capitalized on the rebound with a right-footed strike for his first goal of the season.

Dynamo 2 took the lead in the 85th minute when Gonzalez laid off a pass to forward Jordy Burbano inside the box, where the Ecuadorian attacker found the bottom right corner for his first goal of the season.

Forward Exon Arzú scored Houston’s third and last goal of the night in second half stoppage time when the 20-year-old converted a penalty kick with a strike to the bottom left corner for his second goal of the year.

Midfielder Lukas Bruegmann had Houston’s first shot on goal in the 16th minute with a right-footed strike that was blocked away by Zendejas for a corner.

Goalkeeper Pedro Cruz was called into action in the 33rd minute when Nelson Pierre fired a shot from inside the box following a cross from Castro. However, the young shot stopper reacted well, getting low to make the save.

Bruegmann had another shot on target in the 34th minute when the 15-year-old found the hands of the visiting goalkeeper with a left-footed volley from outside the box.

Cruz stepped up in the 47th minute when a shot from Pierre forced the Brazilian goalkeeper to get low and make a diving save to his right. Three minutes later, the 21-year-old was called into action again, reacting quickly at the near post and blocking away a shot by Cyprian Kachwele.

Burbano had a scoring opportunity of his own in the 75th minute with a right-footed curler that forced Zendejas to get high and block the shot away.

A minute later, Houston had another dangerous chance when Gonzalez forced a diving save from Zendejas with a shot that nearly found the far post.
