Houston Dynamo 2 host St. Louis CITY 2 on Sunday at SaberCats Stadium

Houston Dynamo 2 return to SaberCats Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 11 to face St. Louis CITY 2. Kickoff for Sunday’s match is 7 p.m. CT and fans can watch the action live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Dynamo 2 look to bounce back after a 2-1 loss on the road to Colorado Rapids 2 last Saturday. Jordy Burbano scored his first goal for the team in the match and that was his fifth appearance of the season. The 20-year-old winger joined the team in May and made his debut on May 8 in the 2-1 victory over Real Monarchs.

Dynamo 2 forced five saves from Rapids goalkeeper Zackory Campagnolo and the bulk of the chances created came from Dynamo Academy alum Sebastian Rodriguez, who led the team with three chances created. Captain Diego Gonzalez led the team with 11 crosses and finished with two shots from inside the box. Defender Kieran Sargeant will miss Sunday’s game following his ejection for dissent against the Rapids on Saturday.

St. Louis looks to snap a three-game losing streak on Sunday following their 3-2 loss to Ventura County FC on Friday, Aug. 2. Despite the losing streak, St. Louis enter the match in second place in the Western Conference. MyKhi Joyner has scored nearly a third of St. Louis’ 29 goals this season. Joyner is tied for the fourth most goals scored in league play with nine. The Dynamo 2 backline will also need to contain Ryan Becher, who has four assists and one goal this season.

This is the third and final meeting of the regular season between both teams and the regular season series is tied with each team winning at home. Maddox Findlay and Exon Arzu helped Houston claim three points in the first meeting of the regular season at home on May 22. St. Louis claimed three points in the next meeting on June 16 with a 1-0 victory.

Dynamo 2 travel to Arlington, Texas next weekend to face North Texas SC. The match will stream live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Dynamo 2 open a three-game homestand on Aug. 21 when they host Minnesota United FC 2 at SaberCats Stadium. That match and all Dynamo 2 games at SaberCats Stadium are free.
