Houston Dynamo 2 look to extend their winning streak on Saturday as they travel to Denver to face Colorado Rapids 2 at the Metropolitan State University of Denver Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT and fans can watch the game live on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Houston closed a three-game homestand with a 2-1 triumph over LAFC 2 on Sunday evening at SaberCats Stadium. This was the third consecutive victory for Dynamo Dos and Houston has outscored their opponents 8-1 over that stretch. Gabe Segal scored his second consecutive brace on Sunday and opened scoring in the 17th minute with a long-range free kick that was placed inside the top left corner of the goal. The play marked the 23-year-old’s fourth goal of the season for Dos.

Houston doubled its lead in the 57th minute with another strong shot from Segal. The American attacker fired a ball into the top right corner of the net from outside of the box. Captain Diego Gonzalez recorded his eighth assist of the season on the play. Gonzalez is currently tied for the second most assists in MLS NEXT Pro.

Goalkeeper Nico Hansen finished with three saves against LAFC 2 but none more critical than his penalty kick save in the final moments of the second half.

Colorado looks to bounce back after a 1-0 loss on the road to Minnesota United FC 2 on July 26. Rapids 2 have been held scoreless in two of their last three games but upset North Texas SC on July 14 with a 2-0 victory at home. The triumph over North Texas was the fourth victory of the season for Rapids 2, who currently sit at the bottom of the Western Conference.

The team is led by Marlon Vargas and Antony Ivan Garcia Rodriguez, who combine for 13 goals this season – more than half of the total goals scored by Colorado in MLS NEXT Pro. Two of those goals came against Dynamo 2 in the last meeting between the two teams, a 3-1 triumph for Colorado at SaberCats Stadium.

The third and final meeting of the regular season is scheduled for Sept. 22 at SaberCats Stadium. The two teams split the regular season series in 2023 with each team winning on the road. Colorado enter with a slight advantage in the all-time series with a 3-2-1 (WLD) record against Dynamo 2.

Dynamo 2 return to SaberCats Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 11 to host St. Louis CITY SC 2. Tickets for that match, and all Dynamo 2 games are free and available HERE.
