To close out a historic year of philanthropy in 2022, Dynamo Charities will be piloting the second annual annual All-Staff Volunteer Day across eight Houston-area organizations on Thursday, December 8th. This year's event aims to build on the success of last season's event, which saw many of the same organizations impacted. The organizations impacted in 2022 are Houston Arboretum, Ronald McDonald House, Kid's Meals, Operation Stocking Stuffer, Houston Food Bank, Project Cure, Combined Arms, and the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
"After the success of last year's event, we're proud to bring our All-Staff Volunteer Day into it's second year," said Valerie Holland, Senior Director of Community and Alumni Relations. "The holidays in Houston are one of the biggest times of need for our community, and as an organization we're proud to support our city through these eight amazing opportunities."
The 2022 All-Staff Volunteer Day will be lead by the organization's participation in the Houston Fire Department's Operation Stocking Stuffer Toy Drive. Operation Stocking Stuffer, which began over 30 years ago by Lorugene Young, a former Houston-area public school teacher, is a flagship community outreach event for for the Houston Fire Department. Daniel Steres and Sophie Schmidt attended the annual kickoff event for the toy drive on Friday, November 4th. As part of the aforementioned All-Staff Volunteer Day and throughout November and December, Houston Dynamo Football Club staff will shop, sort, and distribute toys for OSS.
Last year, the Dynamo and Dash participated in a shopping spree for OSS, purchasing over $26,000 worth of toys for local children. Additionally, the sorting and distribution of the OSS toy haul by HDFC staff successfully impacted more than 7,000 families.
