With the No. 13 in pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, the Houston Dynamo selected Virginia Commonwealth University forward Jason Johnson. The 22-year-old Jamaican scored 28 goals and tallied 10 assists in his three-year career at VCU.
Johnson was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 after scoring 13 goals with six assists. VCU finished 12-3-5 his senior year and earned a No. 14 seed in the NCAA tournament. In addition to conference player of the year honors, Johnson was named to the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team in 2012, after earning NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team honors in 2011.
The Happy News, Jamaica native was a member of the Jamaican squad for Olympic qualifying and made his full international debut for the Reggae Boyz on Feb. 10, 2010 against Argentina.
