Houston Dynamo forward Erick Torres went 90 minutes for the Mexico U-23s in a 1-0 win over Nigeria on Saturday night at Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Marco Bueno scored the lone goal for El Tri in the 65th minute, finishing off a move from Carlos Cisneros. Torres, who scored in matches against Club América and Pumas last week, hit the post in 43rd minute.
The match concluded three weeks of training for the Mexican Olympic team as they look to defend their 2012 gold medal.
After the match, Torres spoke of the competition for spots on the final 18-man roster, saying it has been a "healthy competition" but that he leaves the decision for the technical staff but that he is "trying to give [his] all in training and matches."
