The Houston Dynamo announced updates to the health status of five players today.
Defender DaMarcus Beasley, who underwent left knee surgery in July, has returned to training and is probable for the team’s upcoming games. Forward Will Bruin is out with left knee swelling. Goalkeeper Tyler Deric has a left elbow sprain and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Defender Agus Garcia suffered a left knee sprain and is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks. Midfielder Andrew Wenger sustained a right calf strain in training last Friday and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.
Deric suffered his elbow injury on August 21 on loan to Rio Grande Valley FC. He was on loan to the Dynamo’s hybrid USL affiliate in order to regain match sharpness before fully rejoining the first team. Agus and Bruin each sustained injuries in Saturday’s loss to FC Dallas. Beasley underwent surgery to remove loose bodies in his left knee on July 14.
