While the Houston Dynamo were out of action this past weekend, several players were doing work with their respective national teams during the FIFA international break.
Defender Kiki Struna was with Slovenia as they began Euro 2020 qualifying in Group G. Struna started and played the full 90 minutes in central defense as Slovenia earned a pair of draws against Israel and Macedonia, putting them in fourth place in their group after the first round of matches.
Midfielder Darwin Cerén also played the full 90 minutes for El Salvador on Saturday night, as La Selecta upset Jamaica with a 2-0 result in Concacaf Nations League qualifying. The result pushed gave them three wins and a loss (9 points) and a +5 goal difference to claim the last spot for League B and the 2019 Gold Cup.
The Hondurans are in action Tuesday night to take on Ecuador at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. Alberth Elis and Maynor Figueroa should be in the mix for minutes, while reports have come out that Romell Quioto suffered an injury at the start of camp and is doubtful to take part in the match. No further details on his status are available at this time.
